North Parkway Drainage System - COMPLETED
An update on the North Parkway Drainage system, the system is now complete. This area was set up for long term flood mitigation. This area is a catchment basin for a large portion of the town’s storm runoff water. It was deepened and engineered to handle higher volumes of flow, require less future maintenance and provide a natural scrubbing system to make sure the water leaving the drainway to the Vermilion River has been cleaned using natural processes. The area will become a very nice leisure spot for evening walks or picnics in the future, with the option of residential development nearby in future years as well.

Boot Drive for Muscular Dystrophy
On Saturday, June 4, 2016, the members of the Vegreville Fire Department gathered for their annual boot drive for MD (Muscular Dystrophy). The boot drive took place at the Tim Horton’s/Boston Pizza/Canadian Tire & Fas Gas intersection from 10-2.
Muscular Dystrophy is the national fundraiser for fire departments across Canada and fire departments raise over $3,000,000.00 annually for MD through a variety of events.
The Vegreville Fire department raised a total of $6300 for Muscular Dystrophy on Saturday. A thank you the community and all those that supported us in our fight against Muscular Dystrophy. A special thank you to Fas Gas, Tim Horton’s, Canadian Tire & Boston Pizza for allowing us to use your business space on Saturday and to Boston Pizza for providing the firefighters lunch and Tim Horton’s for providing us coffee.
