Town of Vegreville to Roll-Out ‘AB Covid Records Verifier App’ at R.E.P. Facilities, Encourages Residents Get ‘QR Code Ready’

Vegreville, AB (October 13, 2021) – On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, the Government of Alberta announced a roll-out of its ‘AB Covid Records Verifier App’.

This app is intended to be a safe, secure, and simple way to confirm the vaccination status of patrons at businesses and organizations participating in the ‘Restrictions Exemption Program’ across the province.

Businesses and organizations can now download the free-of-charge ‘AB Covid Records Verifier App’ on Apple and Android devices through respective app stores while Albertans are encouraged to begin accessing their enhanced vaccine record with a QR code online at alberta.ca/CovidRecords.

According to the province, when a valid QR code is scanned, a green check mark will verify the proof of vaccination. It will also display a person’s name and date of birth.

The province notes that the app does not store any personal information and does not require an internet connection to operate once downloaded.

“In step with the province, the Town of Vegreville plans on rolling out the ‘AB Covid Records Verifier App’ in the coming days. From the town’s perspective, the verifier app will only be used at town facilities that are participating in the province’s ‘Restrictions Exemption Program’ but other local businesses and organizations will be following suit and I highly recommend residents begin the process of accessing their respective QR codes from the province as soon as they can.”
