2023 Household Hazardous Waste Round Up
The Town of Vegreville would like to thank everyone who came out to the 14th Annual Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up on Saturday, June 24, 2023, and brought their household hazardous waste, electronic waste, tires, paint, and used oil.
Additionally, the Town of Vegreville thanks Alberta Recycling Management Authority for sponsoring the event as well as the Round-Up survey prize, a Benchmark Cordless Lawn Trimmer & Axial Fan Blower Combo Kit which was won by Anna Rempel (pictured below).

The Town of Vegreville’s Annual Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up is back for its 14th year!
This will be your chance to ensure Electronics, Paints, Tires, Used Oil (20L Max), and Household Hazardous Waste that may just be collecting dust in your basements, garages and sheds are safely disposed of.
AND...EXCITING NEWS! Round Up attendees who fill out a brief survey at the event will be entered in a draw to win a Benchmark Cordless Lawn Trimmer & Axial Fan Blower Combo Kit! (pictured below)
The Round-Up will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Central Recycling Drop-Off Centre located at 4822 – 51 Avenue (behind Dairy Queen).
Did you know that last year the event collected 10,185 kilograms of household hazardous waste, electronics, paint, batteries, and tires?
The breakdown of the waste collected is as follows:
- 2,750 kilograms of paint and spray paint aerosols (accepted by Clean Harbors)
- 1,002 kilograms of household hazardous wastes -toxins, flammables, corrosives (solids/liquids/aerosols)
- 1,524 kilograms material electronic waste (accepted by Quantum Lifecycle Partners)
- 1,299 kilograms of pilot electronics
- 1,202 kilograms of single use/rechargeable batteries, cell phones, and automotive batteries
- 1,125 kilograms of oil and oil filters
- 190 kilograms of automotive and chemical containers
- 573 kilograms of tires
- 34 kilograms of fluorescent bulbs, incandescent bulbs, inks, and toners
- 486 kilograms of propane tanks, metals, glass, and fire extinguishers
Come out and bring your leftover paint, empty paint cans and spray paint cans, computer equipment, TV’s, tires and oil!
