Councillor Tina Warawa

Councillor Warawa was elected to Vegreville Council in 2017 and is currently serving her first term. Tina views being a Councillor as a way to give back to the community that has helped her raise her sons and take her next steps in life.

Tina has an extreme passion for travel, camping, and hockey. She was raised in the Andrew area where she settled with her husband, Jeff, and began raising two boys, Justin, and Colby. Her children have been very involved in numerous activities including 4-H, golf, camping, and hockey which has kept her very busy and led to her interest and participation on various Agricultural and Community Association boards. Tina and her family relocated to Vegreville in 2010 after her husband’s passing but keeps close ties to the community of Andrew and the family farm located in the Mundare area.

Tina has worked for both the Provincial and Federal government as a Constituency Assistant and Executive Assistant to the Elected Members. Her passion for politics began at an early age starting with the Youth in Politics program in junior high school. Tina has served on several Electoral District boards and volunteered in many different electoral campaigns, which lead to her being contracted as a Campaign Manager for elections held for all orders of government. Tina brings eight years of previous experience serving as a Council and Mayor in Andrew, Alberta.

Tina has volunteered for the Vegreville and District Minor Hockey League for eight years and is their current president. She has served as a board member on several spring associations and has contributed her expertise to policy reviews. Tina’s passion for hockey led to her receiving provincial recognition for her outstanding contributions to the sport.
