New Residential Recycling Program Launching October 2026

A new way to recycle is coming to Vegreville.

Starting October 1, 2026, Vegreville will transition to a new residential recycling program through Circular Materials. The new program will provide residents with a convenient curbside recycling service and expand the types of materials that can be recycled.

What Residents Need to Know

New Recycling Carts

New recycling carts will be delivered to households at the front curb in September.

Front-Curb Collection

Recycling collection will transition from the existing Town system to front-curb collection.

The first collection will take place Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Going forward, recycling will be collected every Tuesday.

Residents should place their recycling cart at the front curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.

Rear-Lane Recycling Bins

As part of the transition, the Town’s 3-cubic-yard blue recycling bins located in rear lanes will be removed around the October 1 changeover.

Residents who currently use a Town roll-out recycling cart will be notified one week before their existing cart/bin is removed.

Recycle Right

The new program will allow residents to recycle a wider range of materials. It is important that residents follow the recycling guidelines and only place accepted materials in their recycling cart.

Recycling should be prepared according to the program guidelines and placed loose in the cart. Items that are not accepted or recycling that has not been properly prepared may result in the cart not being collected.

Residents are encouraged to review the accepted materials and preparation guidelines before the first collection.

What Can I Recycle?

The expanded program includes materials such as:

• Paper and cardboard
• Plastic containers and packaging
• Metal containers
• Glass containers
• Cartons
• Flexible plastic packaging
• Foam packaging
• Empty aerosol containers
• Other accepted packaging and paper products
