Criteria
Business Recognition
- The business must be within the Town.
- Must have a business license with the Town.
- The business must be in good standing with the Town.
- Eligibility for Business Recognition is limited to businesses that are assessed and taxed under commercial or industrial property classifications; therefore, residential-based businesses are not eligible.
- Requests should be submitted at least one (1) month prior to the date the acknowledgment is required. Late requests may be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
- Applicable anniversary/milestone
thresholds:
- Tenth year of being in business;
- Each subsequent ten-year term following the initial; or
- Significant milestone celebrations occurring in 25-year increments (e.g.,
25th, 50th, 75th anniversaries)
Community Recognition
- Community events, organizations, or educational institutions seeking recognition must be located within the Town of Vegreville.
- Recognition may be provided for significant milestone celebrations occurring in 25-year increments (e.g., 25th, 50th, 75th anniversaries) or for notable achievements such as high school graduation ceremonies.
- Only requests submitted by the organization, school, or institution being recognized will be considered.
- Requests should be submitted at least one (1) month prior to the date the acknowledgment is required. Late requests may be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
- Requests must be submitted in writing to the Town
Office. Acceptable submission methods include:
- Email to vegtown@vegreville.com; or
- In person at the Town Office.
- All required and relevant information must be complete to be considered and can be obtained on the Town Website or by contacting the Town Office.
- Where a member of Council is invited to attend an eligible milestone or achievement event, they may request a certificate of acknowledgement in accordance with this policy.
