Vegreville & District FCSS is a Recipient of the Alberta Crime Prevention Grant

Your Ideas. Your Voice. Your Community.
Together, let’s build a space that empowers Vegreville’ s youth and strengthens our entire community — one conversation at a time. We believe that the best solutions come from listening.
We’re proud to announce that Vegreville & District FCSS is a recipient of the Alberta Crime Prevention Grant, creating the opportunity to fill a gap and take meaningful, proactive steps in supporting our community’s youth ages 12–24.
This isn’t just funding — it’s an investment in the future of Vegreville. With this support, Vegreville & District FCSS is launching resource-based programming: an accessible and responsive space designed to foster growth, opportunity, and connection for youth and young adults. Our goal is to help prevent crime and reduce risk by addressing the root cause before problems begin.
Prevention Through Connection
Research and experience show that the hours after school are a critical time for young people — especially in rural communities like Vegreville, where options for accessible resources and support can be limited. By offering a consistent, positive environment during these hours, we’re creating an alternative to isolation or negative influences.
Built for the Community, By the Community
What makes our project unique is that we want it to be shaped by the people it’s meant to serve. This grant reflects conversations and listening sessions with local youth, parents, service providers, and businesses.
