Frequently Asked Questions
Registration
Do I have to register?
For Fitness Classes, no pre-registration is required. You can purchase Punch Passes or pay Drop-in rates with Guest Services at the Recreation Centre.
Why is there a registration deadline? What happens if I miss it, but still want my child to participate?
Youth programs have registration deadlines to confirm attendance and allow instructors time to prepare lesson plans and materials.
If you miss the deadline, please contact Guest Services or the Recreation Programmer to see if space is still available.
Is there a minimum number of registrations required for the class to run?
Only registered programs require a minimum number of participants in order to run.
Can I drop in?
Drop-ins are welcome for select programs such as Sport Drop-ins and Fitness Classes.
Please review the specific program description for details.
Youth programs (e.g. Homeschool Physical Literacy, Youth Fitness Orientation, U8–10 Volleyball) require registration.

Attendance & Participation
I want to register myself or my child for a class, but we can’t make all the sessions. What should I do?
No problem! There is no minimum attendance requirement once registered. Please let the instructor or Guest Services know about any absences.
My child has never done this type of program before—can they still join?
Absolutely! All of our instructors are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for every participant.
I can’t stay for the duration of the class—can my child still attend?
Yes. Parents are not required to stay during youth programs.
Waivers & Safety
Why do I need to fill out a waiver for my child’s program?
Waivers help ensure that our Recreation Leaders have all the necessary information to keep your child safe in case of an emergency or injury.
Waivers are valid for 1 year and must be renewed annually.
