Town of Vegreville Releases 2026–2029 Strategic Plan

Vegreville, AB (April 30, 2026) –The Town of Vegreville is pleased to announce the completion and release of its 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, a guiding document that outlines Council’s vision, priorities, and direction for the community over the next four years.

Developed through a collaborative process between Town Council and Administration, and informed by community engagement, corporate planning documents, and regional economic conditions, the Strategic Plan reflects a commitment to practical, measurable action focused on building a strong and sustainable future for Vegreville.

The Plan is built around five core pillars that will guide decision-making, resource allocation, and investment: Recreation, Economic Development Growth & Financial Stability, Community Wellbeing, Strong & Sustainable Infrastructure and Organizational Excellence & Governance.

Together, these pillars establish a clear framework to support continued growth, enhance quality of life, and ensure the Town remains responsive to both opportunities and challenges ahead.

“Like many communities, we are faced with important challenges, including aging facilities, the need to enhance local employment opportunities, and ensuring our infrastructure and services continue to meet the needs of our residents. This plan outlines Council’s vision for the next four years and is grounded in opportunity, guided by responsible growth, and focus on delivering meaningful results for our residents”

“This Strategic Plan serves as a roadmap for Administration, guiding how we bring Council’s vision to life over the next four years. Our focus now turns to execution—determining the most effective and responsible ways to deliver on that vision. With this in mind, I, along with our Senior Management Team, will begin developing a Corporate Business Plan that aligns with Council’s priorities and advances the longer-term goals outlined in this document. We look forward to presenting this plan to Council in the months ahead.”
