Summer Pedestrian Safety Reminder
As the weather warms up, more residents are out walking, biking, and enjoying our community. The Town of Vegreville reminds all motorists to slow down, stay alert, and watch for pedestrians—especially children who may be playing near roadways or crossing the street.
Drivers are required to yield to pedestrians at both marked and unmarked crosswalks. Under the Alberta Traffic Safety Act, failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk may result in an $810 fine and 4 demerit points.
Help keep our streets safe this summer by driving with care, reducing your speed in residential areas, and remaining attentive to everyone sharing our roadways.
Together, we can make our community safer for all.
