Recreation Centre Contest: Cardio Room Wall Mural Design
The Vegreville Recreation Centre is inviting artists to submit original mural concept designs for the cardio room feature wall. This artwork will serve as a source of motivation and inspiration for all patrons who use the space.
Concept Guidelines:
- The design must include a motivational phrase or quote that encourages movement, wellness, strength, or perseverance.
- Artwork should reflect the energy, inclusivity, and diversity of individuals who use the cardio room; people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and fitness journeys.
- The overall tone should be uplifting, positive, and energizing, complementing an active fitness environment.
- Designs should be suitable for a public recreation space and appropriate for all ages.
Medium & Style:
- Artists are welcome to submit mock-ups in any medium or style.
- Final artwork will be painted on an existing wall by a local community group; artists are asked to adapt their concept to the wall’s dimensions and surface, and are welcome to view the wall during operating hours.
- Dimensions are 11’ 1” H x 20’ 7.5” W
Submission Details:
- Submissions should include a visual mock-up or sketch, the proposed quote or phrase, and a brief written description explaining the concept and inspiration.
- This is a concept submission contest; final execution details will be confirmed with the selected artist.
- The artist whose submission is selected will be awarded a six-month membership to the Vegreville Recreation Centre in recognition of their winning concept.
