Half-Masting Notice: National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

The Town of Vegreville will lower all municipal flags to half-mast on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in recognition of the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

This day honours the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit+ people, and recognizes the profound and ongoing impacts of violence experienced by Indigenous families and communities across Canada. It is also a time to support healing, remembrance, and continued action toward justice, safety, and reconciliation.

Residents are encouraged to take time to reflect, learn, and stand in solidarity with those affected.
