Half-Masting Notice: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Town of Vegreville will lower all municipal flags to half-mast on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This day honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, as well as Survivors, their families, and communities. It is a time for reflection on the lasting impacts of residential schools and a commitment to advancing truth, understanding, and reconciliation.

Residents are also encouraged to wear orange shirts on this day in recognition of Orange Shirt Day, to honour the experiences of residential school Survivors and to affirm that every child matters.

We encourage everyone to take time to reflect, learn, and engage in meaningful acts of reconciliation.
